I have a £30 bundle with unlimited minutes, texts and 12GB data.
I tried to call a number in Ireland and I got a message saying that I don't have enough credit???
I can call numbers in the UK.
What gives?

Hi @Paffman
It depends if you were calling Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.
If you were calling Ireland, as part of the UK, Ireland will be covered by your bundle allowance. The Republic of Ireland is charged at £1.00 per minute, this means you would need extra credit in addition to your bundle.

If you look here - http://www.vodafone.co.uk/cs/groups/public/documents/webcontent/vfcon081336.pdf
Zone 39 Republic of Ireland is included? Or am I reading that wrong?
I have a 1p Mobile sim and guess what? I can ring and text the Republic of Ireland.
Bye bye Vodafone...

Hi @Paffman
The link you attached only applies when you are overseas roaming.
When you are calling the Republic or Ireland from the UK, it is classed as calling an overseas country and charged as such at £1.00 per minute. This is the general for all the mobile companies. O2 for example charge £1.50 per minute.
Unfortunately, calling abroad from the UK is not regulated the same way as when you are roaming in Europe. If you were abroad from a European destinating calling the Republic of Ireland would have been part of global roaming and included in your allowance.

@Paffman If you opt in to Vodafone International, which is entirely free for PAYG customers, it brings the per-minute cost down to 5p to call land lines and 25p to call mobile numbers in Ireland. See the calling abroad link in AnnS's first post.
Well worth opting in if you do stay with Vodafone, as it brings the cost of calls to the USA, for example, down from £1.50 to 1.5p per minute.
