I have just agreed 12 month SIM only with a discount. So after 3 months can Upgrade to Contract with Handset?
Question would the discount apply to thet the Contract with Handset?
I think I know the answer, but wanted sort of official confirmation,
I am getting a good offer for the Note8 on another Network, so I have to make a decision now as 3 months later I will not be able to cancel my SIM unless I pay a hefty penalty.
If I can keep the discount then I don't need to move.

I was about to ask the same question, kind of. I got a SIM only deal with Spotify 3 months ago and I was gonna get the new iPhone from Apple Store but I’m thinking of upgrading instead. What would happen to my Spotify subscription? I would upgrade to the new iPhone with an entertainment tariff so I suppose Vodafone would cancel my current Spotify sub and I activate the new one once I get the new tariff?

If you change your Tariff to another with the Entertainment pack, then your Spotify will continue but the expiry date will reflect the date end of new Tariff.

If you was to upgrade to a new handset , You would lose any discounts you have ,As they will have been agreed for that contract only, And not able to swap on to a new one. With regards to the Note 8, As with any new release's you would find it difficult to get any discount on these. Hope this helps.
I believe that would be the case, but wanted an offical confirmation.
Nov 14, I upgraded to Note 4 and got a tremendous deal. Difficult, but deals are offered on Brand New handsets.
I then upgraded my tariff after 3 months and kept the discount.
I have in the past upgraded SIM only with discount to Handset Contract and kept the discount as was within 30 days cooling period.
However upgrade of SIM only after 3 months is something very new, so just wanted to clarify.

@Getafix Apologies for the delay in reaching your post.
If you were to upgrade from a SIM only plan to a handset contract, you'd lose any discounts you currently had on your SIM only plan - hope this clears things up 🙂

Thanks, I had a feeling that would be the case.
Extra hassle for me as was expecting to upgrade to handset later this year.
Well, Back to the drawing board.
