Use Vodafone Modem Without Admin Rights ?

Hi,

I have Novatel Merlin XU870 modem (ExpressCard interface).
Use it with lenovo R500 laptop, running windows XP SP3.

So if I use if with administrative account it works fine, but if I run it as simple user I get:
Mobile connection is not possible
-Set your current mobile device as the default
device in the 'Manage Devices' view
....
Of course my device is already default and there are no other devices.
I really need to make it work under simple user account.
Any ideas ?

Hey Vilius,

I agree, this would be frustrating to me, also.

You'll need to set the user to have admin rights too, or network admin rights. I'm not too familiar with the process, but I do know there are several 'layers' of rights. Maybe one of our fantastic community can help further? We're not Microsoft accredited so couldn't advise a procedure.
