Using Handset As Modem

pacentro08
Not applicable
When I was in Italy this summer, Vodafone Italia gave me 500mb internet use per day for one euro, on my Italian pay as you go SIM card. Admittedly it was a special summer offer, but why isn't it possible to use my handset as a modem in the UK at a reasonable price? I don't really want an extra bit of kit for occasional use. My local Vodafone shop says it is possible but hugely expensive. Can you clarify please?

Many thanks

Hi pacentro08,

A warm welcome to the eForum! :D

I’ve got some great news for you!

We now have some great packages for using your phone as a modem. For just £15.00 a month you can get 3GB and for just £25.00 a month you get 5GB!

Just click the link for more info! :)

For anyone else reading this too, don’t forget you can also get the TopUp and Go modems now too! This way, you’re not stuck paying a monthly charge if you don’t use it that often. Again, just click the link for more info! :)

All the best,

Jenny

Thanks Siddie. I had a look for JoikuSpot software but to get email access it's not free - if I've understood it correctly. I have an LG Renoir (KC910) which has wifi. Can you give me the idiot's guide to doing this plse?

Cheers

Different Country... All countries have different deals - ours just likes to rip us off. ;)

Hi,

I have had a look at their site, and the KC910 doesn't appear to be on their list. I would recommend that you contact them and ask if it is supported.

Yes, for email access you can't use the free version (unless you use webmail - then you can)

I used the free version for a long while, and recently purchased the premium version. So far it has worked like a charm!
