Hi musher1971,

The first thing that I’d try is to deregister and then re-register the unit.

This will download a new profile to the Sure Signal and should have you back up and running in next to no time at all.

Hi, this works as a short term solution but the problem represents itself within 24 hours.
Surely I don't need to deregister and deregister every day ???
The signal seems to drop frequently.

Thanks in advance

Hi musher1971,

You shouldn’t need to deregister and reregister each day.

Try a factory reset to see if this fixes things for you:-

  • Hold down the reset button until all the lights show/flash (about 30 seconds)
  • Keeping the reset button held down, remove then re-insert the power lead
  • Once all the lights display, release the reset button
  • The Sure Signal will come online in about an hour

Also, try changing the Ethernet cable to see if that helps and check to make sure the following ports are open/forwarded on your router:-

Port Number

8          TCP      UDP

50         TCP      UDP

53         TCP      UDP

67                     UDP

68                     UDP

123                   UDP

500                   UDP

1723     TCP      UDP

4500                 UDP

33434 - 33445    UDP

If this doesn’t help, try the Sure Signal on a different internet connection such as that of a family member or neighbour.

Let me know how you go on.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi - I've tried all of the above and everything seems to be ok but the VSS is still not working.
What do you suggest ? Is there anything that can be done from Vodafone end ?

Hi musher1971

I have checked and can see that this is on the old firmware.

I tried to send the new firmware but the device was not communicating with us which would imply it has been unplugged.

Please ensure that this is all connected, and that you perform a reset which will automatically send the firmware update.

For versions 1 and 2:

-Hold in the reset button until all lights go solid

-Pull the power lead out with the reset button still pushed in

-Continue to hold down the reset button and reconnect the power lead

-Wait for all lights to come on and then release the reset button

Hi there, I've done as you have asked and still no joy I'm afraid.
I've upgraded my mobile phone recently but was assured this isn't the problem ?
Is there anything else that can be tried at all as I have a constant no signal in my house and isn't good.
Thanks In advance

Hi musher1971,

I can see that you’re now connected to the server but still running the old firmware.

I’ve requested for the update to be sent out to you and you’ll need to keep the Sure Signal switched on and active for the next 48 hours

Hi again, I've left the vss on since Friday and can see no difference.
Can you check if firmware has updated and advise next steps please?
Can you also ratify that upgrading mobiles hasn't affected my connection please?

Thanks in advance
