Hi iansjones,
Question number 1 from me is going to be, what's your returns policy!!
Been assured that a DrayTek Vigor 2860n ADSL/VDSL Wireless Router will resolve all my problems, we'll see hey.

Just an update on my situation.
Like some here, when I upgraded to BT Infinity my SS died a death, shock horror!! :smileysad:
Tried various settings on my newly installed BT Business Hub 5 router that came as part of the upgrade but all attempts to get the SS working failed. Due solely to the BT router being inadequate on so many levels.
Decided to bite the bullet and got a DrayTek 2860Vn Plus router (on a sale or return basis).
BINGO!!! SureSignal is now working.... whoopeeeee!!!!!!
Only had to make one config change to the DrayTek and that was to allow fragmented packets through (a config option not available on the BT router). No port forwarding, no allowing IP address through no changing the MTU settings.... nowt, nothing, zilch. Just a tick in the - Accept Fragmented Packets box, simples.
My advice to anyone trying to get their BT Business Hub to work with SS is give up. I spent days and days trying and my head started to hurt from banging it against a brick wall.
From what I’ve found out the BT Home Hub is just as poor as the BT Business Hub so if I were you I’d use these BT products as paperweights, doorstops or anything else come to that. But don’t use them as a serious internet router, they are rubbish.
Only downside, the DrayTek unit cost me over £200 (YIKES!!! :smileysurprised: ).

You said "Accept Fragmented Packets box, simples"
Where is that setting?
I can see a setting in the (Draytek) Firewall options that says
"Accept large incoming fragmented UDP or ICMP packets ( for some games, ex. CS )" Is this the setting you mention?
If it is then I am still stuck as that is checked. Looks like I may be looking for another service provider 😞

I have tested the ss3 on my home bt hub 5 and it works ok.
At Annas flat i have forwarded all the ports to the fixed ip of the ss3.
mtu is set to 1500.
i have contacted the "isp" elite telecom asking them to do the same and they replied with:-
"I have discussed this with the carrier and they have confirmed that the port forwarding can only be programmed on the equipment, not the connection itself. If your equipment has been programmed correctly, there is nothing on the connection from our side that would prevent the Suresignal from working."
Anyone have any other bright ideas about netgear routers?

Hi Jenny,
The speed test was done while everyone was on the network so presume this may be low becasue of this but I have seen up to 6Mbps when tested at times.
I have tested the Device at home and it works fine whereas we have a totally different network setup at work with a Juniper device as a gateway and I am told the necessary port have been opened to allow the device to work but was hoping you would be able to confirm this. Can you see the device trying to register with your servers?
Regards,
Andrew

Hi
Just upgraded to a BT Home Hub 5 and guess what, my Sure Signal 3 has gone belly up. This sad event means my mobile phone has now transformed itself into a very expensive paperweight.
Has anybody got a fix for this?
Have read the forum where people talk about MTU settings and Port Forwarding, all things I have done but Mr Sure Signal just continues to wink his red eye at me whilst showing his orange teeth, it's not a pretty sight!
For what it's worth details listed below. Quite what help they are is beyond me but hey ho.
