Hi
I recently upgraded my SIM Only contract to take out an unlimited voice & text contract with 1 GB data so that I could use my shiney new iPhone 5S
The first thing that was messed up was my upgrade - they didnt give me 4G to start with - even though it was in my offer. Then I found that the data connection to my phone was not set up properly and I was not able to get data through anything other than WiFi !
After nearly two weeks of messing about trying to connect to internet, I have tried everything:
1. Resetting the device (Over twenty times)
2. Resetting network settings
3. Going to Vodafone store and changing SIM card
4 Going to Apple Store and changing my iPhone
5. Having Vodafone apply a data bar on my phone and then have this removed (felt like they were clutching at straws).
BUT no joy - Vodafone done sem to like me.
So I reluctantly asked Vodafone to drop me back down to my old contract and they did this without really much concern. Now my iPhone has stopped working altogether - no voice, text or data.
You have to give it to Vodafone - they really know how to mees up your day. I wish I had not given up my EE phone now .

The private message which you were sent would have had another link to a form to fill in with some account details, a link to this thread in the main body and a description of what problems you are having, and a code to enter into the subject line.
That form would then get routed to Laura and her team to read, and you would have got an email back saying thanks, we'll be with you soon, and a reference number in the reply.
If you just replied to the PM rather than clicking the link and filling the form, then that would not be read as it does not enter the customer service systems.

Is this what you need?

Email came through after I replied to your message a second time

Thats the one,
When the team get back to this post, or to your email in their inbound queue, they will be able to contract you directly to work out what is going on with your account.
From your initial post, it just sounded like the iPhone didn't have the correct info to connect to Vodafone's data services, although a restore through iTunes should have sorted that out, it didn't work for yours for some reason.
I'm not sure if it was mentioned where the handset came from, was it another UK network and unlocked, Sim-Free from CPW/P4U, or directly from Apple.
Was it purchased outside the UK, as that may have an effect on what services will work.
Anyway, now you are in the system for the forum team, I wouldn't bother with any more calls to 191 if you have not gotten anywhere so far, it will be less stressful to wait for contact

Hi
My handset was a new iPhone from Vodafone - there was no restore required, but I did take it to Apple Store and they did replace it.
The issue seemed to be with the config at the back end - not with the phone.
My son put his SIM into the phone (Vodafone SIM) and was able to use the phone just fine. This is firmly an issue with my account.
Sorry chaps, but it means you guys have to do some real diagnostics at your end. I've already done a marathon of running around - changing the SIM as well as the phone as well as countless network resets, hard reset, phone resets ... you name it. The only thing I havent done is a provider reset ! Maybe that's what is required ... Waddaya think

Always worth a try, and probably what Vodafone will ask you to do as a troubleshooting step anyway.
If that does not work, then it's another thing to cross off the list of trying to work out what is going on.
Does your sim work ok in your sons handset, or is that also dataless?

When I inserted my SIM into my son's iPhone, it did not recieve dats. At that time it had voice and text - just no data.
It seems the APN settings may have been messed up ?

After a lot of insistance that my SIM was faulty, here appears to be a change of mind!
Now it seems that the config of my price plan was wrong. They have placed me on a new plan and assured me it will take effect today. So far I have had nothing, and given all the past false promises, I'm not holding out much hope.
Vodafone have made me feel like a second class citizen.

So the NEW contract failed - why am I not surprised.
Now I've got an engineer from support who says he has worked for 5 yrs at Vodafone - meaning he knows more than the other jocks (or should I say jokers) in support. He claims my number has a split service !
That means the nice lady from Vodafone somehow put my number out to another network provider ...
Oh well ... I wonder if there are any other tall tales I have to hear from Tech support.
I hope someone from Vodafone reads this and accepts some responsibility for the mess and the interruption to my work this has had.

three days on and I have no mobile. Does any one have any ideas. Is my only option leaving Vodafone?
Doesnt seem such a bad option any more - I hear O2 offer good reception in my area.
