The problem I have is that I can receive a video call from my partner who had a samsung and is also on vodafone, so the excuse that Vodafone don't support video calling is rubbish.

I can also make a video call when I hang up a call.... 3 options, video call, call back and message...... if vodafone don't support these calls then why can I receive them and makeep them once I've hung up a normal call?

I am sick of the excuses! Vodafone should also not have a tick next to video calling on the website spec if they don't support it...... Oh wait, they do support it, just not for all customers. ...

Whilst I understand that you say it's a firmware issue that can not be what is affecting my handset as i can receive video calls and I also have the option to make a video call once I have hung up a call..... if I can accept a call its not firmware.

But do you have the option to initiate a video call? If not, it is the firmware. Something in the firmware is preventing that.

This is my point! Its something Vodafone has done yet they keep trying to fob me off saying video calling is not an option for vodafone customers which is a lie, because other customers with an s6 have this option.

I have a followup on this.

I have the same problem as the OP in that the video calling icon is not displayed on my S6 Edge. A firmware update to 5.1.1 along with a factory reset did not resolve the issue.

And so I rung 191 and like the OP I was passed to Samsung. The Vodafone agent checked my account and advised that all was in order and that Video calling was definitely provisioned.

As with the OP I was sent back to Vodafone by Samsung. The lady who spoke to me advised that one of her friends has exactly the same problem and that it is due to Vodafone "not enabling the option".

And so I rung up Vodafone again and this time the agent I spoke to advised that they have come across this issue quite a bit.  I was told that Vodafone do not officially support Video calling.  It is available/works on some handsets but this is luck of the draw.  The agent's advice was that I try a third party program such as Google Hangouts.

Assuming this is agent is correct (who knows?) my theory is that perhaps Vodafone are starting to withdraw this feature from newer handsets?  Perhaps it is luck of the draw if you get a handset wtih it.

One thing I would like to try is to use a SIM from another network - but unfortunately my S6 Edge is simlocked :smileyfrustrated:

@zbacks3

Video calling as a network is supported, but this is a separate Samsung feature.

Samsung video calling is available on select devices, but isn't something we support directly.

While we can provision you for standard video calling, we can't guarantee the service will be available on all devices.

Third party alternatives are available as discussed earlier in this thread.

Thanks,

Ben

I spoke to Samsung today and I was told it is the vodafone software on the Samsung s6 edge

Hi All

Its was a long wait after Voda Management accepted that its their fault and they will fix soon but haven't done anything yet.

Will wait for some more time and then cancel my contract as its not as discribed and not good for the purpose.

Its nothing to do with Samsung as all their devices and other network provider's devices got this function available and all the display devices in stores as well have the function available.

I think we all need to stand togather and cancel our contracts as this is a big issue and need to be sorted ASAP.

Regards

Has this been resolved. I also have this issue and have been past from pillar to post between vodafone and Samsung.

Is there a way I can install the Samsung original operating system without vodafones firmware?
