So, have been running with this router for over a year now with no issues. Recently, keep getting a random dropout whereby the internal house network connects fine to the router, but the router keeps losing the connection to the external IP address. I have tried running a ping and traceroute. Both show that the router is losing connection gradually losing 1 out of 5 packets, then 2 out of 5 then eventually loses all packets and get a connecyion not available message. 5 minutes later, the connection is fine again. This causes all sorts of issues, but main impact is when gaming. This seems to be either a faulty VC Router or a problem with the copper/fibre connection.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Using a different router would help you identify the problem. AIUI the Vodafone router does not like heavy wifi traffic, so if that is happening when you have connection problems, it could be the underlying cause.
If you have an old router you could use it as a wifi access point and disable the wifi on the Vodafone router.
