Vodafone Connect router and wifi extenders

Hello! Couldn't find a board relating to broadband so I'm posting this here. I have just got a Vodafone Connect router which works fine. I used to have a wifi range extender paired to my previous router, in order to get the signal out to the other side of the house. (thick walls...)
Try as I might, I cannot pair the (tp-link) extender to Connect router.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Were you able to solve this problem? I am having the same problem with my tp-link, cant seem to get it working. Use to work perfectly with my Sky router.

Yes, to a degree. 

The tp link extenders wouldn't pair using wps but I found that connecting directly to the extender (after a reset) would work most of the time. It was an unsatisfactory solution and I have now switched to BT who's latest hub has a far stronger signal and now I don't need the extenders.
