I need some advice regarding where I stand with Vodafone Cover Me insurance.
My partner managed to get her iPhone 6 Plus 64GB wet and it subsquiently decided it didn't want to work anymore. The insurance accepted the claim immedietley which I was quite impressed about but since then they have been seriously dissapointing.
The phone has been 'In Repair' for the past 5 days so I rang them up and was told they couldnt repair it and would give me a 'new' phone, although they have been trying to find one for the past 5 days with no luck. They are unable to give any time frame on when or if they will be able to source the phone.
They offered me a 16GB model which is not like for like. They refused point blank to give me a 128GB model and laughed at the suggestion of a 6S. They also dont do cash setllements.
so how long do they have to actually source me a phone? there is no indication of this in their T&C's and they have already had the phone for 11 days now.
I have since cancelled all policys with them as the service i recieved today was shocking.

Most insurers for like for like work on a basis of up to 30 days to source a replacement.
I would just keep hassling them to keep things moving, they could if they wanted to easily source a phone from Apple, it is hardly like it is an an antique they are searching for.
Just resist their offer of an alternative model unless it is better than the damaged one or alternatively they will have to compensate you with cash if they fail to find a replacement, the downside of that they will be offering you the current average market value.

Thats what annoys me the most, up until a few weeks ago Vodafone and Apple were still selling these phones, why is it so hard for them to find a replacement?!
Thanks for the info regarding the 30day period.

@ It isn't difficult if they want to. Much like most insurers when it comes to settling they start putting obstacles in the way in the hope of getting off lightly.
They could easily source a phone, maybe suggest they look at eBay but just hang in there until you get your phone. When it gets to 3 weeks write to them and tell them they have 7 more days or you will contact the insurance Ombudsman, insurance companies don't like that.

@Tom5865 Also check if the insurers have either a Twitter or Facebook account.
Companies usually respond pretty quickly to complaints on social media.

Exactly the same story for me. Also looking for a 6 Plus. Why is it so difficult!? Its been 2 weeks now, what do we do?

@krumble All you can do is to keep on hassling the Insurance company.
There are plenty of devices around but as with most Insurance companies they delay settlement until the very last moment. Generally insurers work on a 30 day replacement basis but of course if they wanted to they could source you a replacement tomorrow.
