Vodafone Dongle

Hello I have a vodafone dongle which I have not used for a year.  I was told by your offshore support to go into a Vodafone shop and get a data only sim since my current one is now no longer working due to the time lapse and they did not have data only sims for your dongle.  I went into a shop and was told they do not keep data only sims and they said i should purchase a new dongle.  can anyone confirm if this is correct?

You have been given the correct information.  The SIM comes part and package with the dongle, Vodafone do not provide a dongle SIM as a separate item.

it seems a bit of a rip off because i could buy a separate sim for a PAYG phone without having to replace the phone

the following post was able to buy a data only sim card.  Are you saying this wont work?

Hi,

 

I bought a Pay As You go sim in a Vodafone shop for use with my dongle (I was int he same positiona s you, as I hadn't used my old sim for ages) and it all worked fine. I didn't ask for one specifically for dongle use, I just said I"Can I have a sim that I can use for data services please". That was it.

 

I had to reconfigure the Vodafone software to use a different APN:

APN: smart

Username: web

Passwrod: web

 

Once I'd done this everything worked fine.

Hi I need some help I have a Vodafone dongle which I have just topped up £10 but it will not let me access the Internet it says I have no free space and 0mb can someone help please xxx

Hi,

 

This sounds like a problem with your computer. When you plug your Dongle in to your Computer does the installation screen come up for the Dashboard programme or do you already have that installed?

 Do you have space lefdt on your Hard Drive?
