Vodafone Employee Advantage Scheme

I am thinking of purchasing a sim only through the employee advantage scheme

when i go to buy, the only ones it lets me purchase are up to the £15 i gb data sim, i rang to ask as this surely cannot be the only options till the others come off the offer on the 31st of october ?

any advice on this as a few of us at work were looking at the £20 20gb one

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

well popped into my local vodafone shop and was told " the vea discount can definitely be applied to the red bundle deals that are on offer "

sat down with her and she showed me on screen what can be discounted and the £20 20gb bundled showed a price of £14

so i went ahead and got 2

hope this helps others out who can take advantage of this good deal at the minute

I have the £22 SIM only tariff and it isn't eligible for the VEA as it is already a discounted tariff anf you can't have a discount and the VEA.

I've looked at the £20 offer and it doesn't mention on there that it is a discounted tariff so I'm not sure if it would be eligible for the VEA discount or not.

You cannot have the VEA on a Quidco transaction. You have to deal directly with the network without anyone else being involved.

thats what i said no meantion of discounting just states buy before a certain date

so as far as im aware you cannot buy the products above a certain level no matter what ???

you couldnt buy the £22 sim and now i cannot buy the £20 even though its not discounted

(quidco is never a guarantee only an option to try)

seems like this is more and more of a con, my company has already started to move away from vodafone to ee , i wonder if this is the reason

I cannot fathom your reasoning for thinking this is a con. £20 for 20Gb of data is a ridiculously cheap price and the best deal I've ever seen them offer. Personally I'd grab it with both hands if I had an upgrade due now.

As for cashback websites - I used to run one so I'm very aware of their pitfalls.

the vea is clearly a con,

its obviously aimed at old ladies who need less than 1gb of data

i come from giffgaff unlimited for £20 ( although this has just started to slow after there new 6gb limit) so i am used to this price also three has now 30gb for £20 so in reality not really an offer more of the norm

im not here to argue with anyone

if you get a discount through work supposedly as an added bonus then come to use it and you cannot use it then on the products that are available it is not really an offer then is it !!

You are wholly and completely wrong. The VEA has saved me a fortune over the years and continues to do so on the three lines on my account that are not discounted..

And it isn't an offer from Vodafone. It's an offer from your employer - the scheme is run by Vodafone on behalf of particiapting employers. They are the ones who should be giving out details of the scheme.

the point i was trying to get across was that last week the prices for the top two tariffs were £27 and £22 respectively

they are now £25 and £20

a saving of £2 on each tariff

The top tariff on Vodafone SIMO is usually around £37. In August the top 3 tariffs were £37/£32/£27. The £37/£32 were offered with 40% discount.

Since then they have changed their Tariffs to include more data and have offered it with revised discounts.

I am still asking the same question. Does it matter which Discount is applied as long as you are not any worse off?

a discount off an overly inflated price to a market average price isnt really a discount is it though.

its just coming into line with current prices.

think i will just stay with giffgaff the friendly community, first day here and i am getting bullied already

Hi @markharrop

The reason for this is because the 12 month  SIM only 20GB is already discounted and on promotion until the 31st October and you cannot add the VA to an already discounted or promotional contract.

There is further information on the VA FAQ's on the link below.

What Bundles is the Vodafone Advantage Discount Available on?

You will probably find the discount SIM only equal to the the VA.  The best thing to do is to give Vodafone upgrades a call, they will be in a position to give the best advise.

I notice you have already marked this thread as solved which provides the answer you were looking for.

i havent marked it as solved !!!

it is a 12 month sim only deal i was after

i just cannot believe that the only deal i can buy through this scheme has either 1gb of data or less till the 31st october

Or cost you a fortune if you are paying over the odds ie £37 to get your 30% off instead of going to a competitor with a better offer
