Vodafone Home Broadband / Vodafone Connect

Hi there. Firstly the speeds and setup on my broadband have been great, so has most of the customer support I have had with initial gremlins on setup

I do have two big headaches though. I have a zyxcel nsa325 network drive which I store music, photos, movies etc on and On my old plusnet modem I just plugged it in the ethernet port and my Hitachi tv saw it. Now although the drive is visible through my PC and is visible wordlessly on the home network, the drive is not seen by my TV *unless the drive is plugged directly into the the ethernet port on the TV. So what setting am missing, there is no help or suggestions on the net, with it being a new modem there is no firmware 6 for it either.

Secondly, when I signed up for vodafone home broadband I was told that I would get 10 email addresses too, I have no idea where they are or indeed the pop/imap.plus.net settings for the addresses or the settings so I can send emails on my current email address.

Hope someone can help and thanks in advance

Mick

I haven't had time to do mine yet. Anyone done it and if so did it fix it? Thanks

Just forced mine and so far so good, 5ghz and 2.4ghz clients can both see wired Sonos speakers. That said I seem to remember when I was having problems originally that it worked sometimes and not others so will test for a couple of days and report back again.

External DNS was available before as I had mine pointing to Google before uograde. If I used the Vodafone ones getting back online after a reboot could sometimes take 20mins!

PS worth noting I have set a single SSID to be both 2.4/5ghz and have not tried separate SSIDs for each....

Hi. You should be able to force the update by going to settings/firmware update/check for update

You are right PeteB01, however,

Unable to force it here

Firmware is up to date

Your Vodafone Connect router is already running the latest firmware.

Current firmware version 5.4.8.1.271.1.59

I did mine about 5 days ago and I haven't had any reboot problems ans the 2.4/5/wired network have also stayed interconnected so for me at least, it does seem to have fixed the orginal issue this thread was about

It's odd as I've had what seems the latest firmware for a while.  However, I did reboot as the issue still seemed to be there.  Since, the router has lost internet connection several times.  I'm goingto wait and see if it stabilises and check to see if the issue remains.
