Hi there. Firstly the speeds and setup on my broadband have been great, so has most of the customer support I have had with initial gremlins on setup

I do have two big headaches though. I have a zyxcel nsa325 network drive which I store music, photos, movies etc on and On my old plusnet modem I just plugged it in the ethernet port and my Hitachi tv saw it. Now although the drive is visible through my PC and is visible wordlessly on the home network, the drive is not seen by my TV *unless the drive is plugged directly into the the ethernet port on the TV. So what setting am missing, there is no help or suggestions on the net, with it being a new modem there is no firmware 6 for it either.

Secondly, when I signed up for vodafone home broadband I was told that I would get 10 email addresses too, I have no idea where they are or indeed the pop/imap.plus.net settings for the addresses or the settings so I can send emails on my current email address.

Hope someone can help and thanks in advance

Mick

Just check that it's actually bypassing the "dial up" though. Normally plugging into the WAN port will use the router's modem. You'll also end up with two firewalls unless you place the netgear in the DMZ of the vf router.

I'm currently using it just as a router. The modem is BT openreach. Hopefully keep the vodafone connect doing as little as poss until/if they sort out it's problems.

Ok, netgear in a DMZ using the VF equipment as modem and everything is working really well. Except for my Philips Hue lights, which for the life of my I can't get to work remotely, on Netgear LAN is fine. I'll cope, but quite annoying, was ok with VF router

the reason im here is because my Hue Bridge will no longer connect remotely and seems to have been since my hub was upgraded,

Internet light on Hue Bridge just flashes, tried all sorts and cant get it working

On your Hue Hub app, connect to the device and switch off DHCP client, then restart the hub. See how that works 👍🏻

Yup tried that, so far done the following

Reset bridge to factory

Used different port in router

Set static IP (in both Hue App and on Router)

DMZ to Bridge

Changed Routers DNS to Google's

Turned all firewall options off

Factory reset Router

Swore at it loads

The last one really helps!
