Vodafone Mobile Broadband - I'm Connected But Can't Download Or Upload?

Hi all!
I've recently bought a 18 month contract Vodafone dongle. I am in what Vodafone says to be excellent coverage (although when i connect i get poor-very poor signal). However, when i do connect, i get no upload or downloads on the little green arrows . It says i'm connected but cannot use any web browsers, etc.
I'm running Vista

I have been back to the shop where i bought it from, and spent several hours on the phone to customer support. All to no avail!
Am i paying for something i can't use?? Someone please help me!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with this. I can completely appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.

Do you get any error messages at all? What happens when you try and view a webpage? What web browser are you using at the moment? Do you have any other web browsers that you are able to test this with? (Google Chrome, Firefox etc)

Can you also give me your full postcode of the area that you are using the dongle in. I can then check the local sites to ensure there are no issues.
