Vodafone K3565 Dongle - I Get The Message "No SIM found" When Using It With My Mac

Hi,

I've had a K3565 dongle for a month now and used it exclusively on my Macbook without a problem.
However, when it came time to topup yesterday, for some reason I couldnt get to the topup page on the vodafone website. So i tried it on work laptop (dell), and I could complete the topup without a hitch and my balance increased by the top up amount.

However, something seems to have gone awry during this process, as now whether i try to use it on the Mac (running vodafone software ver. 3.04.11.02) or the PC (running vodafone mobile connect lite 9.4.4.17702) the green light continues to flash (never goes blue) and I get the following error message after the software finds the device.

"No SIM found
Please ensure your SIM is in the device you want to use with the Mobile Connect software"

I have removed and re-inserted the SIM a number of times, rebooted machines, but to no avail.
Scratching my head at this point - can someone offer any help/insight?
