Vodafone Mobile Broadband - Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G Connection

Hi all,

Having some problems with a Lenovo T500 with embedded Vodafone 3G SIM card and VMC 9.3. A user who i support is having connection problems @ home.

Upto the beginning of last week said user (who works from home most days) was able to get a strong connection to Vodafone mobile Broadband via VMC 9.3 and the embedded SIM card in the laptop. Fast forward a week and VMC refuses to find any signal at all - last might we tried for over an hours before we were able to receive a very weak signal, which booted us off after immeidately after connecting.

User lives in SW11 and is in a good coverage location (no know balck spots or anything) and as far as I can make out there have been no service outages in the London or SW11 area.

It's not the card\VMC or SIM that is the problem here as everywhere else a connection can be found in seconds.

Am I missing something here?

It certainly sounds like a network fault to me, but we'd need the full postcode to be able to investigate further (as you can imagine, there are a lot of sites in SW11).

Since you were able to pick up a weak signal, I would rule out a problem with the modem, the software and the laptop. That only leaves a network outage, which we can check better once we have the full details :)
