Update:

We've had a similar issue reported in Vodafone Ireland, which is also under investigation. We have suggested to them to uninstall .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 to see if it is the same problem. You may just have helped lots of other customers across the international estate with your troubleshooting ;)

In the meantime, we have a request for more information, as we've been unable to duplicate the error on our systems running XP SP3 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 with VMC 9.3.6 or VMC 9.3.3

Can you please upload the log files for VMC to this forum, so that I can pass it along to our modem specialist? I'll tell you where to find these in just a moment. Any screenshots of the error message you can upload would also be greatly appreciated :)

Firstly, to find the log files you'll need to access a hidden folder, so make sure you have "Show Hidden Files and Folders" enabled in Windows Folder View settings.

Now go to C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Vodafone\Vodafone Mobile Connect\Log

We will also need example times and dates of when the error occurred, as this will make it easier to find the fault within the log file.

Thanks for helping us with this :)

Hi guys,

I use a W3 Asus Laptop with Windows XP and I recently encountered a problem with it saying Opco/52503 Singapore/52503.XML. I reinstalled VMC and this time it popped out still saying C:/Program Files/Vodafone/Vodafone Mobile Connect/Opco/00000/00000 XML. I followed your instructions and tried virtually everything, from upgrading the software, to looking for .net 3.5 sp1, (which I do not have, I only have .net 3.0). Ironically, the VMC works on my smaller Tablet PC. However, my Asus Laptop has some of my information and I cannot access the internet on it. I hope that you guys can solve this problem. ah yes, my vodafone model is K3565-Z.

P.S. How do I give your guys my log files?

Thank you!

Hi powell_sia and welcome to the eForum

Just to let you know I really aren't sure how you would go about getting the log files. I'll pass this over to Jon_Vodafone and he'll pop on a bit later today to get this answered for you. :)

Thanks

Wayne

Hi powell_sia,

Simply upload your log file as an attachment to your forum post. Certain file types are dissallowed, so it may help if you change the file extension to .txt for us :)

I have the same problem.

C:\Program Files\Vodafone\Vodafone Mobile Connect\Opco\65501 South Africa\65501.XML

I have an Acer. I have tried EVERYTHING you suggested thus far.

i have uninstalled VCM, reinstalled VCM, uninstalled .Net Framework 3.5, downloaded new software from the page Jon suggested, installed that, still no luck... I also cannot connect through the Network Connections.

I have used the laptop in a Wifi spot, so I know it is not the machine. I have also used my K7315 stick on my work machine and it was fine.

It must be some softawre clash. This has been going on for 10 days and is really frustrating as I am paying for a service I can't use now.

Please help?

Hi Emtiag,

Can you please upload your log files as per my previous post? Instructions on how to obtain them are in my post at the top of this page.

I'm afraid we're unlikely to be able to find the cause of this issue until we have some log files to analyse, but nobody has provided any yet!

Jon

I deleted the logs that were in the location you described in one of my attempts to uninstall and delete EVERYTHING related to VMC. I have, however, found other files called "Huawei logs" which I have uploaded here. I am also uploading screenshots of where the logs were meant to be and where I found the others in case you need that.

Thanks for your help, I really do appreciate it.
