Hi Reuben,

In order for a USB modem to work, it needs the computer to tell it how to connect. Unfortunately, the settings for our modem and that of our Spanish counterparts, is different - which means that the software used for one, will not work for the other.

While it is possible to create your own custom settings within Vodafone Mobile Connect (in the Manage Connections section), I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to tell you exactly which settings you need to use for the Spanish connection, but we can give you ours.

If you are on a non-expiring 1GB bundle, the settings are:
APN: pp.internet
Username: web
Password: web

If you are on the 30-day expiring 3GB bundle, the settings are:
APN: ppbundle.internet
Username: web
Password: web

You can add these settings by going to Manage Connections > View > Add New, and click on the APN tab to enter the settings above.

I trust this helps :)

Thanks for that...If I uninstalled the UK programme and only installed the Spanish one and only had one programme on my laptop at any given time would that work ????

Hi reuben

The answer is Yes.... with a qualification. Isn't there always :)

When you connect in the UK you will be charged the going data roaming rate by our Spanish colleagues. How much it is I do not know but I think Jon's solution is best and most economical.

Remove the UK software and install the Spanish. Then go to the Manage Connections page of Control panel and set up a manual dial up connection. Call it something like "VFUK" to identify it from the Spanish USB installed connection. When the connection wizard asks for a dial up number, it is *99#. The rest of the required information is in Jon's post.

Just ensure to make the laptop aware of which one you want to use, based on which dongle you are using and where you are. :)

Best wishes

Albert
