Even tho some Networks in different countries bear the Vodafone name they are not linked.
So for example a mobile phone supplied by Vodafone U.K wouldn't accept a SIM card from another U.K Network or a SIM card from another Network in another country.
The exception is if the phone has been unlocked to All Networks by the Network it was originally locked to.
Best way to test is to insert the SIM card in the phone and if you see a pop up message asking for a code and won't show your Network name in the top status bar then it's locked.
