Vodafone connect router DHCP settings

mattman
4: Newbie

I have posted this into off topic as I can not see any reference to Vodafone Home phone and Broadband.

I have install the router and all is working but there one thing that is missing from the setting of the VDSL router that being a function to turn off DHCP, I have for the pasted 10 year had my own network running at home with a fully working server that is my DHCP & DNS server but for the first time in history I have just sign up for 18 month and got a bloody router that has no function in the GUI settings pages to turn OFF the DHCP server. So for now I will have to wait for 18 months before I can change ISP. thanks vodafone tech team for missing this one. If there is anyone out there that can offer me a firmware update to give me the function to turn OFF DHCP then please post it.

Persoanlly I think what would be nice here is an assumption that when I posted that I had obtained my login details it was merely to confirm it was/is possible.

There was no gloating involved .

Is that sour grapes I can smell..........

And there we go again.

"Is that sour grapes"

Stop being a troll

Well i think the key to me getting mine was my service wasnt installed and I went on chat to confirm if i indeed was going to get my details and if they couldnt provide it dont bother installing the service cancel it and give me a full refund within 2 minutes i got it. I was told only way to be given my details by the agent is if the vodafone router isnt working correctly and there are plently of clever ways to get the VF router to not work if you are a techie (hint hint) I think vodafone dont want to miss out of the cost of selling you a router fair enough i dont care I will pay for it just me my details anyway. Also only tier two can give it to you after troubleshooting.

On the phone with CS cancelling my 29th installation, the price is good but no point if I can't use my own equipment I might as well stay on VM in modem mode.

As mentioned before its inconsistent they should have a clear policy and I believe they do but wont make it public for obvious reasons and its if the VF router isnt working as the customer desires you can give the details to the user to use their own on the basis they accept they will not get any support. If this wasnt the policy no one would get their details I suspect the agents not willing to provide the details are being anal.

Remember each chat and calls is recorded so if they werent allowed to give the details out this wouldnt happen period.

I will give it one more shot (when Natasha's Live Chat URL starts working), ROFL!!

Then I will pay the early termination fee and go with another provider.

I went through the normal web chat but they couldn't transfer me to the Broadband team's web chat - as no one was available - IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WORKING DAY!  ##~##??

Natasha, I bet you don't use Vodafone broadband yourself?

You're with BT or Virgin right?

Thought I might get the user name and password but no so installation cancelled, glad I didn't pay anything.

@Soufflee, so I am a troll because I managed to obtain my username and password?

You really need to grow some mate. Obviusly jealousy is eating away at you and causing you to react  so negatively to those more fortunate than yourself.

I really don't understand why you are being so nasty. I can only assume it stems from your own inability to obtain your username & password.

I wish you you well in your future posts but DON'T call me a troll.

In fact channel your unpleasantness towards Vodafone.

Amazing that Vodafone think they can just pretend this isn't happening and try to silence/censor us. Refusing to let customers use their own equipment is absolutely unacceptable. I have given up on the customer service route now. I will now be proceeding with the formal complaint route. All the way to Ombudsman Services if necessary.

You could always email the chief executive  Nick Jeffery and explain your concern. Good Luck!

Worth a try - any idea what it is??

(The email address, that is!)
