Vodafone just aren't bothered!!

Coming up to the end of an 18 month contract which started off badly as Vodafone sent me a sim which had already been allocated to someone else.

I wasted more than half a day trying to get this sorted and ended up going into my local store.

After complaing I was offered £10 as compensation (refused to offer more) and I swore then that I would go elsewhere when the contract ends.

Now that I'm a month away from that I live chatted with them to see if they wanted to keep my custom (been with them for what must be 20 years!)

I told them that EE would offer unlimited calls and texts plus 20GB data for £17/month and that if they (vodafone) would do the same deal for £15/month then I'd stay (I fgured they owed me that much)

They've refused saying that I should check their deals in a month.

So .. Pretty disapointed and will be moving on to EE when the time comes.

Do Vodafone really not need to keep their customers? .. Apparently not!

Typically a person is in a better bargaining place when close to or at the very end of their contract. Not any early upgrade date.

Ringing 191 then and choosing Thinking Of Leaving should get you to the Retention Department.

That said an amicable deal isn’t guaranteed even if 30 days notice is given by you or a PAC Code requested.

@Aldoukvod I'm sorry to hear of the experience you've received.
We value each and every customer and we'd love for you to stay.
Please check out your upgrade options online. Alternatively, our Live Chat team will be more than happy to take a look into your options with you.
Please let us know how you get on.

It was the online team who said no. I just thought that Vodafone might give a little back being as I've been with them for so long. I guess the online reviews are right.

Until relatively recently, businesses would focus on retentions at any price.   That, however, wasn't sustainable in profitability terms (though building or maintaining a user base has its merits).   Now, there tend to be offers and they're stuck to.  I can see that there's a 20gb/unlimited calls option for £20 at the moment.  Retentions may have some movement on that, but it's pretty good (against 250mb and limited calls for £9.50), so maybe not.  The EE offer is £21 today, btw, so I'd be inclined to snap the Vodafone one up (it's for a limited period, which isn't specified).

Well Vodafone would not go anywhere near what I have now signed up for .. I went with 3 for unlimited calls and texts plus 12GB data for £8/month after cashback.

Goodbye Vodafone!!
