Voicemail set up

Hi, I have only been a Vodafone customer for a month or so but cannot set my Voicemail PIN as every time I dial the voicemail and go through the settings, as soon as I get to the PIN section, the IVR plays a termination message and cuts off the call.

I also cannot turn off the SMS notifications for missed calls as I tried to navigate to the right part of the IVR but the terminology doesn’t make sense at the notifications and alerts section and even when I tried the first one, it just repeated the strange description and again terminated the call.

Finally, I cannot view the Voicemail tab in the phone section of my iPhone 6s. When I was on O2, the voicemail tab opened up a screen that showed all current voicemails where you could tab on one to listen to it but when I tap on the voicemail tab on Vodafone, it just calls the service. Is this because I haven’t set up my voicemail correctly or is it that Vodafone don’t offer this functionality on iPhones?

Vodafone do not offer Visual Voicemail.

With regard to your normal voicemail this should be set up automatically so it sounds as though your service has not fully ported.

Try dialling 1211 which turns voicemail on then 1210 to turn voicemail off. If that does not work you will need to call Live Chat or 191 to chase up the completion of your number porting

Disappointing about Visual Voicemail. Considering iPhone penetration in the premium device segment, this is one of those features that if you've never had it, you don't realise how useful it is. Poor effort by Vodafone there.

Calling 1211 myself didn't work, I had tried that recommendation previously.

I called 191 and the chap I spoke to appeared to do something similar to the 1211, 1210 process and after turning off my device, it now works.

Still can't find out how to turn off text message notifications; the IVR doesn't give you an option. I also worked out the garbled option on the IVR. it was "slam down notifications". Not sure what that is but I'll Google it.

Slam down notifications are for when a called reaches your voicemail and hangs up.

Vodafone will then send a text notification with the callers details.
