What happens at the end of my minimum term

Most likely have to call up or chat online but was wondering what will happen at the end of my contract when the 12 months is up next month. Will I continue paying the same but just turn into a rolling 30 days instead?

Hi Emma,

That is exactly what happens. The payments stay the same but you can cancel at any time or upgrade to a new contract.

Upgrade in this sense means paying less for a new contract as well as the same or more.

Thank you 🙂
That's good to know because there's no 'new' deal anywhere which matches what I have now so will continue as I am

You could opt to move to 12 sim only which can be cheaper or a 30 day sim only ,and then down the line if you want a full contract again switch it back up.

If you were on a discounted 12 month sim only deal, then the price may increase after 12 months. I'm on such a deal where £37 was discounted down to £22.20 for 12 months.

Hi @nikiandemma

I am sure Vodafone have now changed policy for when contracts reach the end of the mininum term.

Where Vodafone used to allow customers to remain on the same tariff at the current price keeping the contract rolling over on a month to month basis, you are now put on the equivalent 30 day contract tariff which is going to mean your monthly line rental charges will increase.

When you took out the contract any discounts/reduced line rental charges were only for the duration of the agreement.

If you need further clarification, please use live chat, they will be advise further.

Really @AnnS I hadn't heard about that. When did that happen?

Hi @jeffkinn

It seems only right really, so many keep the contract rolling over at the cheaper price when in fact, they are on a 30 day contract.

Makes sense @AnnS

I always upgrade my contracts as soon as the early upgrade date rolls around either to get a better deal or a new phone. My 4 contracts are now all sim free but I will upgrade when I can no doubt. Every year prices seem to get better or more of everything is available for the same sort of money.

Hi @jeffkinn

It makes sense, Vodafone must have been losing a lot of money allowing contracts to roll over when the customer would be paying a lot less than the contract would be on a 30 day tariff.

Like you, I always upgrade at the end of contract.  I have a fabulous 12 month SIM only at the moment and I am paying less than  I was last year for more.   I know the discount was only for the duration of the contract, I can't expect it to carry on the same at the same price when I am out of agreement.

I always think Vodafone are very competitive on prices and always have good reception.
