I have had my Galaxy S4 returned to Vodafone repair shop on three separate occasions for the similar fault that is experienced by others namely that it repeatedly switches itself off. It first went back in beginning of May came back lasted a week then went back on 18th May with my continually complaining to vodafone and requesting a new phone. Was told that it had to go back 3 times for the identical fault before I could be considered for a nearly new phone. My daughter took it in again as I was away on 12th June and I was repeatedly phoning 191 getting various conflicting messages that it was ready then it wasn't. It was obvious that the customer services at Vodafone could not have cared less. However when I returned home the phone came back on 26th June lasted a day this time and I contacted vodafone on 191 told them that this was the 3rd time it had the same fault and I wanted my nearly new phone. I was told to take it in to the Vodafone shop which I did in Altrincham for sending back. Not trusting Vodafone I this time decided to confirm in writing that I would get my nearly new phone (it was in warranty) and I used the chat and eventually I was told by Theo supervisor that I would not get any replacment phone unless it was manually collected from my home. I told him that I was told to take it back to Vodafone shop but he would not have any of it. I was on the chat with him for about an hour and he would not budge. I phoned the vodafone shop on a mob no he gave me and fortunately it had not been sent off so I traipsed up there and got it back. I went back on the chat to Alex who agreed after looking at the notes that I should have a nearly new replacement and confirmed what Theo said that as soon as the handset was returned and received by Vodafone it would go off to me but would take 5 business days. Alex arranged for the phone to be collected which would take 4 days and was scheduled for collection on Tue 24th June 2014 between 12 and 5pm and it was collected. I kept phoning vodafone some days later and was told as soon as it is received at their warehouse the new phone would be sent off. It okk until Wed 2nd July for it to get there and I chatted with Alex (not sure if same one) and he said yes it would go off. I received a text on Fri 4t July from Vodafone ' Galaxy S4 out of stock not sure when in stock try and ring us in 10 days to see stock position. I am now awaiting a call from a supervisor after a further call to 191 where I was offered £25 compensation ( I had received in the early days 2 payments of £20) which I refused and said I want my phone. This whole experience with Vodafone is so bad which such poor service and I do have transcripts of these later chats and false promises. Unlike you I had agreed to receive a nearly new phone though this had changed to a promise of a new phone but totally valueless as I have received nothing.
Comments would be appreciated.
