I read somewhere the other day that UK Vodafone would be sending out marshmallow updates on the 16th, it would seem this is rubbish as I’m still on lollipop, so does anyone have a firm answer to this especially after today’s news of everything other than marshmallow being at risk of hacking

Hi,
The official statement is Vodafone Firmware Statement
Firmware is released in stages / waves.
Checking the phones software update section is the best way.
Totally understand the frustration when awaiting updates.

Thanks for the reply, i hope i'm not breaking rules here but should i just bite the bullet and use another ROM and upgrade that way, my only worry is VF have not even given a hint of when the update may be.

You're welcome.
What your considering is a process that a person needs to have a little knowledge about and what to do if an issue arises.
i.e. Knowing the Pro's and Con's.
I'm not able to instruct you on this option.
Personally if this was my situation I'd wait.

There was 2 reason for asking to be honest, one was security and second was everytime i boot up know i get it saying "android is upgrading starting apps" and it's a pain in the butt, i'll post back on that one see if anyone sheds any light on it.
