As like many others i assumed providers in 2017 allow users to use thier own networking equipment...unfortunately not it seems.
i am not 2 days in and already dreading this , networking setup and configuration on my Asus RT-N66U was eager to be used but now stuck with something thats no where the scope and configuration of my old router!
i have spoken to live chat and complaints team and the UK guy i spoke to on the phone seems very familiar with this complaint and the amount of people asking for thier username/password...
to move its going to cost me atleast £25 to connect back to plusnet or £60 to BT and tbh im not happy at all with this as i wouldnt have joined in the first place if i knew it was so locked down!
Who is the best escalation or route to take to waive the £25 connection fee i paid vodafone?
Solved! Go to best answer.

Hi,
The Broadband Team maybe able to help and guide you.
Got a question?
08080 034 515
(free from all UK landlines and mobiles)
Lines are open between 8am and 11pm, seven days a week
Yes its correct that currently Vodafone will not supply the required settings / password to be able to use ones own router.
This past thread may / may not help

What are the chances of them refunding the 25 connection fee..?
Its painful to ring vodafone
Your request would be considered I'm sure.
It would be wrong of me to say you'll be reimbursed as things like this would be assessed on a case by case scenario.
