Hi.
Is WiFi useage free on your home network and others if you have gone over your allowance?
When you go onto a new vodafone contract on paymonthly, don't you have a data try of unlimited data for the first 3 months still?

Let's make it absolutely crystal clear. The only thing Vodafone can charge you for is the use of their own network (or an overseas mobile network if you're out of the country).
If you are using Wi Fi, whether it's your own at home or at a friend or in a shop etc, Vodafone doesn't know or worry about it and cannot charge you under any circumstances whatsoever. You can use as much WiFi as you like.
The only time you will incur extra charges over and aboe your monthly contarct rate is if you go over your data allowance or make a call or send a text to a number that isn't included in your allowances.

If you are referring to the Data Test Drive, the product is no longer available.
Mobile phone companies cannot charge for using your own home WiFi connection or any other WiFi service. The WiFi has already been paid to the service provider.
Providing you turn off mobile data and only use WiFi, there will be no data charges on yout bill and you will not be charged for going over your allowance. There is further information below.

If you exhaust your Data allowance from your Tariff and you continue to remain connected to it thus using more data then you will be charged.
Here is some information about Vodafone Extras which is also concerning adding more data > https://www.vodafone.co.uk/explore/benefits/extras/
Ensure you check the Terms part carefully if you do not want to keep paying the reoccurring £10 each month.
If a person regularly goes over their current data allowance then its advised to look in the phones inbuilt data monitor if it has one to see what's using data and either delete it or tweak its preferences settings to curb its usage and or look to increase your data allowance via Customer Services.
Turn off Mobile Data in the phones settings which turns this network data connection off.
Using home wifi or wifi in coffee shops then until your allowances refresh.
Don't access sensitive information or apps such as Banking Apps while on public wifi as it isn't secure.
