Wifi Calling for S6 Edge+

Hi,

Is there any news when the S6 Edge+ will get Wifi calling as the Wifi Calling pages still only refer to the S6 and S6 Edge?

To be honest I thought the software was the same of the Edge+ as the Edge, so dont understand why this is taking so long.

I agree the + model certainly is compatible for Wifi Calling. 

Did you acquire it directly through Vodafone ?

If WiFi Calling is only available on the S6 and S6 Edge but not the + versions, it's a bit strange that Vodafone have sent me a text inviting me to this service.

I have an S6 Edge+ bought directly from a Vodafone shop on contract.

I received the text over a week ago and replied immediately.

I have had confirmation that the service has been setup on my account, but the option to enable WiFi Calling is not on the phone anywhere.

I have contacted the online chat support people who just keep telling me it's enabled on my account and should be an option in the settings.

It's not, so if this is only available on the non + versions, why are Vodafone sending out invites?

As part of the text invite process I did receive an MMS message which never downloaded.

Has this got something to do with the problem?

@MarkH119 - I've had exactly the same problem. Got my S6 Edge+ recently from Vodafone and was sent a text from them inviting me to activate Wifi Calling, and the text specifically said Wifi calling for my S6 Edge+. I have tried everything to activate this - I have spoken numerous times to Vodafone Tech Support, and even to Samsung Tech Support. Samsung confirms that the Edge+ does support Wifi calling but needs Vodafone to send me an activation text in order to activate the setting option in the phone. Vodafone Tech Support has been pretty useless in this and do not appear to know anything about this - I have been told various things from (1) I have a faulty phone (they even sent me a replacement phone), and (2) I need the latest Android 6.0 operating system (I have that now and still no Wifi calling setting option on the phone), to (3) Samsung S6 Edge+ does not support Wifi calling (Samsung themselves confirm that it does). I have also discussed this problem with Tech Support in a Vodafone shop and they spoke to their Samsung rep - both confirmed that the S6 Edge+ does support Wifi calling, but could not figure out why it was not working on the phone supplied by Vodafone.

I am inclined to believe Samsung on this and that the Edge+ does support Wifi calling. I think Vodafone has made a mess of this and has not activated it properly in the S6 Edge+ phones that they are providing to their customers. To compound this, they have also not trained their Tech Support people properly on how to support Wifi calling on these phones.

Thanks for responding. Actually I bought the phone SIM Free from Carphone.

Not sure why that should make a difference when I'm paying over £50 per month for my contract though.

Will this not be available to me then?

It's a current stipulation. 

"A compatible device:
iPhone 6s or 6s Plus

A Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 edge bought directly from Vodafone at one of our stores, online or by phone through our customer service team"

Poor service in my opinion.

I have to have a SureSignal because of poor coverage and then this.

Another nail in the coffin of Vodafone when my contract is up.

Jason you could try flashing your rom with a vodafone branded one, its worked for those on EE
