Hi

I've used my friends s6 to try it out but it didn't get too hot to handle.

If you have a case on it try removing it to see if that makes any difference.

Most smartphones will warm up from body heat , charging the battery , battery output due to what's being used on the handset. Streaming , playing games and extended Internet usage will provide an amount of warmth.

Is it getting too hot to hold ? Or warm ?

My primary phone is an iPhone 6 Plus which has the original  leather case on it.

I charge over night with no issues with case still on it.

What type of case is on your phone ? Picture ?

Perhaps consider going caseless for a short while to see if the heat issue resolves.

If so it could be your choice of case.

Of course be careful with your phone as it's not protected by said case or try an alternative case if you have one.

Fair enough.

I appreciate these are expensive items.

I use a tempered glass screen protector too.

If you get worried or require clarification from the manufacturer perhaps use their UK Support site via http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/

I wouldn't recommend leaving a phone charging overnight. It would be better to charge it and unplug it once it is done,

Also, when you say hot, how hot is it getting? It may be worthwhile downloading GSam Battery monitor as that will monitor what is using the battery up and also what sort of temperature it is getting to. It's not uncommon for a smartphone to hit about 35 degrees or so when using apps such as satnav.
