iCloud - new for old

I've got my iPhone 6 yesterday and am trying to crake my old 5 to resell. I've just tried to backup the new one after it'd finished restoring but I don't have enough room because of the old phones backup. I'm concerned that if I delete the old phones backup from the cloud it'll cause me issues with the new one, is this true?

Is your iPhone 6 a lower GB than your old 5?

You could try removing some apps that you don’t use anymore.
