iPhone 7 account problems

I received my iPhone 7 32Gb gold today. I have put in the sim that came with it. I can make and receive calls send and receive texts. The phone shows Vodafone 3G in the top left corner however no data works. I tried to set up my free Spotify earlier but keep getting errors so called customer service and they say that the number showing is for PAYG.

 

Is anyone else who received there phone today having the same issues. Is this something I should worry about or will the system update in time

Mine is lnt working either... Was told last night that hopefully will be resolved in 2 more days.

That is a joke. If my phone is not working by 8pm tonight.

How did you get it sorted? What did you have to do?

I did try to phone them again but the systems were down

It got escalated to a super user on Friday... No idea what they did in afraid. Hope you get sorted!

Cheers Elcowardo they were supposed to escalate mine on Friday also. I'm sure they will sort it at some point but I am beginning to run out of patience with Vodafone. I have another iPhone 7 jet black on order from a different provider so I'm not prepared to wait to much longer. I will be going popping into my local Vodafone store after I finish work if I have to leave that store without a fully functioning phone then they can accept that as my cancellation.

Well just an update 6 days have passed and there is still no fully functional phone. I have now made the full decision to return the phone and cancel my order under the 30 day return.

I would like to thank Vodafone customer service for their excellent response time 6 days to get a phone up and working and still not working. I have had the pleasure of being shouted at by call centre staff because she did not understand what I was saying.

I have really enjoyed the countless hours on the phone trying to sort this problem out. I will really miss this side of things I'm going to miss being told by the complaints team that my issue is being dealt with and actions speak louder than words. Yet there have been no actions only telling me what I want to hear.

Fortunately I do have other devices which still has about 12 months left on the contract. So maybe all is not lost when I get a problem with that I can look forward to being lied to again and maybe even shout at me again. The most important thing is if it takes 6 or more days to resolve the problem I would be really pleased
