I somehow locked my phone while looking at the vodafone protect app. My phone has locked and the screen has frozen. I have a Galazy S6 please help

Hi there

 

Power off the phone if you can and leave it off for a bit.  Then turn it back on and you should be able to enter your PIN to unlock the handset.

One option would be to wait until the battery dies and then put it on charge for a few minutes and then turn it back on.

I've managed to find a website that showed me how to turn it off, volume down and power, now it's the Vodafone protection code I need to unlock it but I didn't put in a code to start with.

If it is asking for a code and you don't know what it is, you can get the code sent to your registered number.  You need to first pop your SIM into another handset and then request the code.  Once it is sent to you, you will be able to enter that code to unlock the app.

Hi,

 

 

We see a few posts in connection to the Vodafone Protect App and issues occasionally encountered. As this is a Security tool to protect the phone and it's data their is understandably limited workarounds. 

 

If you do get stuck then one last resort is a Hard Reset which takes the phone back to its last firmware update. Be aware this will delete the phones memory of data you've downloaded. 

 

 

First, turn off the phone by using the Power button.
Now press and hold together: Volume Up + Home button + Power button, until you see Samsung logo.
Then select from Recovery Mode menu "wipe data / factory reset" using Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to confirm.
Choose "Yes -- delete all user data" to confirm the whole operation.
After that select option "reboot system now".
Well done! The hard reset has just been performed.

I tried thte sim change into another phone and it wouldn't work, so I've had to reboot, I'll let you know how it goes, thanks for all your help
