Could some one please help me, to try and get my new micro sim card activated. I have waited the 24 hours, and have turned the phone on and off. I have to say the customer services at vodafone are the worst l have come accross, i spoke to 5 different members of staff and they all told me something different.
This phone was a upgrade and if it is not working by the end of today, l will send it back and end my contract with vodafone as they do not seem to care about their customers. How can it take so long to get a phone atcivated.

Hiya, SIM card activations can take up to 24 hours , after that the customer services team can raise with a department to get this resolved so your call sadly shouldn't take 5 goes unless it was before the 24 hours.
Have your phone been activated through itunes also ?
If its just the sim card activation that you need done then speak to customer services, ultimately if you are being given differing information after the 24 hour period then ask to speak to someone who can help (shouldn't be necessary).
Alternatively if you are near a Vodafone Store they can assist you, and also rule out the small possibility that it is a faulty sim card which can ocassionally happen

It has been more than 24 hours, and l have done the itunes. To be honest getting fed up with them now, they tell you something different every time you call them, and they all say something different. To be honest l dont want to go into the store, as that is why l upgraded on line to save the trouble of going in town. As l say they have till the end of today, they have not even replied to a email.

In that situation you would need a moderator to get your post and look at it, I can totally agree with you that you shouldn't need to go to a store etc In terms of resolution it can be done and thats what I hope you achieve today.
Like I said customer service would normally ask you to wait 24 hours, after this it can be raised with a specialised team who can individually look at your sim card number and why it is not connecting properly for the first time on the network. Issues which need to be rules out are incorrect sim number, faulty sim in terms of the card itself and lastly a network error. Its the network error part which takes the 24 hours part so its looking less likely, though still possible.
As I said after 24 hours this can and should be resolved, I would always give the customer services person a chance to solve your issue, but if not ask for it to be escalated to a team leader to look at
Was it through Vodafone telesales that you took the connection as sometimes through 3rd parties they can sometimes be responsible for a short delay

Thanks, how do l get a mod to look at this post, and the upgrade was done through the vodafone website, l have been with them for over 5 years, just spoke to someone again, who told me it is still waiting to be activated which l knew and all l could do was keeping turning the phone on and off. The customer service is awful.

Hi Caroline12,
The answer is quite easy - you simply need to post here.
I'm getting an email sent to you so we can get your details and get things looked into for you. Just check that you've covered everything in our iPhone 4 getting started list and, assuming you have, reply back to us and we'll get right on it for you.

Hiya, I hope you got it sorted, sim activations do very ocasionally go wrong and it can be frustrating because of what the norm is, it can also be frustrating because what I would like if I was a customer was that if I spoke to a person in hour 16 of my wait and was told that it would take 24 hours, that if hour 24 was a practical hour that, that person, or someone would then check it, raise it and call back, sadly I realise it doesn't work like that. It also helps if its made clear it does take up to 24 hours, very ocasionally things do go wrong in the mobile world, from wrong SIM card numbers noted, to physically faulty card to network errors which can be related to the profile of SIM cards and "stuff".
I hope its up and running and your enjoying your new phone !

My iphone has been replaced by Apple due to a hardware fault. I temporarly switched my contract to another phone and now I have the replacement iphone I want to reactivate the SIM I had previously used. I filled the online form in - and two hours later, nothing? It's never taken more than 20 minutes before! Is there likely to be a problem?
