Hi weemitch and Welcome to the eForum.

I understand your frustration with your iPhone.

On the iPhone hold down the Power & Home button together until  Logo shows then release both & the iPhone will reset. This may help.

Other options are :

Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.

Ensure no carrier settings are waiting to be updated.  help link https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201270

Also try a restore via iTunes (after creating a back up to iTunes and or iCloud.)

Please check the masts in and around your current location via https://www.vodafone.co.uk/explore/network/uk-coverage-map/index.htm Please use the Zoom Out function on the map to check surrounding areas for any known issues.

If this is happening everywhere please look at http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Network-queries/Network-issues-initial-checks-and-template/td-p/18566... and use the template to report your findings back on the eForum for the Tech Team to look at.

Try ure Sim in another phone as elimination 2 rule out the phone or sim that may be at fault.

If your sim does not work correctly in another phone then it's either your sim still at fault, mast problems or mast congestion, fringe coverage or a not spot issue.

If your sim works fine in another phone then you have a few options.

If a person is over the 14 days cooling off period Vodafone would send away the phone to a repair centre. They wouldn't issue a new iPhone at this stage.

If you have a local  Store then book an appointment via https://www.apple.com/uk/retail/geniusbar/ and they will run a diagnostic on it while you wait and if it's a fault that cannot be remedied in house they typically swap it out for you straightaway even if you didn't source it from them.

Please create a Back up to iCloud or iTunes incase they do swap it out so you have a fresh backup copy to upload into your replacement iPhone.

I wish you well with this.
