old dongle top-up with only 1GB

It seems that I have the old model dongle and my £15 top-up only gives me 1GB. This is grossly unfair as the regular £15 top-up is 3GB. So why am I being penalised?

And apart from an uprade, is there any way of getting those two extra gigabyes that should be mine in the first place.

Hi japo,

As you are on the previous version of Top up and Go Mobile Broadband you will only get 1GB rather than 3GB, the difference is that your 1GB does not expire after 30 days like the new version. In order to switch to the new charging system you would need to purchase the new dongle from our online store.

The good news is that it is on offer at the moment and is only £25 pounds and comes with 3GB of data included. You will find this deal in our fantastic online store.

Thanks B-)

This is good news, I deliberately bought this dongle because of the longer expiry and was worried that I would have to change at the next top up.

Can you confirm what the expiry time is (and also how I can find out when the current credit that I have will expire)

TIA
Chris

If you have the old dongle then you just have to use the dongle once every approximately 3 months to keep it active. The credit will last forever as long as you keep it active.

I just got confused when I put card from new dongle with 3GB for £15 in my old dongle which is 1GB for £15 . and show the same data allowance . does that depend on dongle or card ??

Why would the OP need to buy a new dongle, please explain?, when he could just buy a new sim.

Think of a dongle as a mobile phone. they are the same (3G+ Phones). Its due to the sim card.

Hi Migito

I can see dannym9 has helped you out here (Thanks :)). It depends on the SIM card, as as the data allowance will be topped up on this :). In regards to japo's post - the reason is because we do not sell the SIM cards alone they will need to be purchased with a dongle.
