Have spoken to BT, and my download speed had dropped dramatically to 2.34 from the 6.95 I was experiencing normally, as they had clearly done some work at the exchange.
THey have now reset my download speed and I now am getting 7.05 download, and an upload of .36.
I can only get the top two lights on my VSS. I have tried to reset a couple of times, and its not working. Before I take it to a neighbour ( who has the same broadband provider as we dont have a choice in this area) could you do another resync and let me know if the VSS has communicated with your server at all in the past 48 hours
THanks

The VSS now keeps showing only the power light, on the front. and the internet flashing lght on the side. Please cna you do a resync as I will have to take it to another friends who has a different ISP. And thats a pain so I would like to try a resync first, and to know when it last connected with BT. My downloads speed is steady now at 7 and my uploads steady at .36

i have been affected by the nationwide SS issues, and my VSS has only had a power on light up until today, I did a factory reset, and it flicked quickly through the lights, and then nothing. I have checked with BT, all ports are open, my sownload speeis is as it was, as is upload and BT with home hub 3 worked perfectly until 1st weekend in Nov, then I needed a resync from yourselves. THat worked perfectly until last weekend. THen despite resyncing nothing has happened and the factory reset seems to do absolutely nothing. I have not got chance to try it at anyone elses place but I am convinced there is nothing wrong with the ISP, but there is something worng with the information coming down the line from Vodafone. SOme one from tech help told me last week that BT HH3 has known connectivity issues with VSS1 but very strange how I had no issues whatsoever for 10 months.
I will be getting BT infinity soon, and my contract with vodafone is up for renewal this week, I am seriously considering ditching Vodafone all together unless someone can give me a definitive answer............ Is my VSS1 damaged........... if so ( and I know it is out of warranty) which is the optimum combination from BT infinity and VSS?
