I have the vodafone protect app on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Ace), I took my simcard out and ever since the vodafone protect app has locked it. It asks for a pin number, and when I try to reset my pin on the vodafone website it comes up blank

I can't remember my password or pin.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your response, i got this sorted this evening, i went in to the vodafone shop and they sorted it for me.

Thanks again.

ı came to other country and when ı change the sım my device got locked and ask for pin to unlock the device. which i dont know and when i tried to reset pin from https://protect.vodafone.co.uk/ this message comes out

Reset Password To reset your password for Vodafone services, such as Cloud and Protect, please enter your mobile number. Note this is not your MyVodafone password.
We're sorry but we encountered the following issue(s):
  • There is no valid account associated with your number.

please help me i have 4 more days to be here and i have to use my phone to do business.

 I have the same problem.

Vodafone protect has locked my phone Galaxy Note 3. I took out my SIM and when I inserted it back Vodafone protect asks for a password. I have never registered to Vodafone protect so I don't have it's password. Anyways, when I click 'forget password' it sends an email which contains the link to Vodafone protect. When I enter my phone in that website it say this number is not associated with any account. I have called Vodafone servise center and I have visited Vodfone office and they have no idea how to solve this isssue.

Your help is depesrately needed. I have been locked out of my phone for two days now.

Hi Mahrukh,

My best advice would be to perform a facory reset. You should still be able to back up your data by plugging the phone into a computer.

To perform the factory reset, follow the steps below:

  • Power down the Note 3
  • Press and hold the volume up, home and power button simultaneously
  • Release these three buttons as soon as the screen turns on
  • When the menu appears, use the volume keys to navigate and select the "factory data reset" option with the power button.
  • Once complete, select the "reboot system" option, again with the power button.

Your phone should then turn on and you will no longer need to enter any Vodafone Protect password.

Thanks,

Matt B

Hi,

I have had a similar problem that when I went to turn my phone on the vodafone protect app wants me to enter my pin which I don't remember setting. I clicked that I had forgotten my pin and it sent me an email to reset the pin but the link just sends me to the home page of vodafone protet which is useless.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

@Lorri-1000Do please follow this up as suggested by Andrew.  I'm pretty sure your PIN could be reset, but it may also have been a generic one.   Did you try 1234, 0000 and 3333?   These are the ones Vodafone usually uses, though I don't know whether they do for the Protect app.

If you haven't tried them, be careful about doing so now, though, as I don't know whether the app locks your phone completely (requiring a PUK key) or just locks itself.  I don't use it, so have no further info on that.

Hi Hyrm,

Thanks for  your response, i got it sorted this evening, i went into the vodafone shop and they sorted it, it is a common thing, they rang customer service and they sorted it for me and gave me the pin, it is a different pin for the vodafone protect so it was handy to know.

Thanks again.
