Ok i live in a bad spot for Vodafone the phones mainly work when i am on the third floor of the house with varying levels of reception when i go down to the second floor or ground floor receiving or making phone calls becomes a bit of a lottery. as i spend a great deal of time working from home this causes a major problem. I have purchased a shure signal 2 and on visual inspection it appears to be working correctly as the lights on the front are doing the correct things the router can see it and to make shure I have given it a fixed ip internally and manually opened the ports to said ip. Ok so far so good. If I leave the premises and return there seems to be a problem with the phones re linking or syncing with the shure signal 2 unit. Restarting the unit or restarting the phones or both has no effect. It only connects when it feels like it and is totally random, when connected it can drop the call during the conversation. I have explored all the possibilities mentioned on this forum but to no avail. I have done a tracert as suggested and here are the results. All other suggested ips for the trace return the same results

Hi Alan1951,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Everything looks absolutely fine and your IP address is on our whitelist.
Your Sure Signal last connected at 2.58am so this looks ok too.
Please can you try putting your iPhone into airplane mode and then back on as this should then cause you to reconnect to the Sure Signal.
What’s most likely happening is there is already an active data connection on your phone when you get home and your phone can’t connect to the Sure Signal until the existing connection with the local mast has been ended.
Putting it into airplane mode and then back should end that connection and enable you to connect to the Sure Signal again.
Let me know how you get on
Thanks,
Jenny
