This seems to be a bug introduced with android 7 on the Samsung S6.
On android 6 I would only see the wifi calling lit up when I had next to no signal and connected to wifi such as being inside my local metal Tesco's.
When my phone got the Android 7 update wifi calling seemed to be on all the time even when out driving with no wifi, it goes off once in a blue moon.
Due to this and such a big update I ran a factory reset but the problem came straight back, even last weeks update didn't fix this.
Even turning WiFi off results in wifi calling still showing on the meny bar and drop down.
Am I alone on this?

Yes that was arranged for 6:30pm tonight, I gave you plenty of time considering the average reply to email is 2.5 hours and guess what, NO ONE PHONED!

Needless to say a total waste of time. Living up to your reputation as the worst mobile company for support. No call again.

Care to explain when I was finally called several days late instead of the account holder and I PASSED SECURITY WITHOUT THE NEED TO SPEAK TO THE ACCOUNT HOLDER DUE TO ME HAVING FULL AUTHORITY FOR YEARS!
Oh that one slipped through the net.
Turns out it was a waste of time expecting to get help as I couldn't have had a more painful experience if I tried. Not listened to at all.
Pathetic, totally pathetic.

Just to follow up on this with some more information.
I and not the account holder was called at the correct time, just several days later than promised.
I passed security, funnily enough because I have full authority on the account to the extent I took out a new contract foolishly last year believeing due to me never having an issue that the masses may be wrong about vodafone customer service, the security ##~## was enough to change that but the following cement the fate of my opinion of the vodafone answer service pretending to offer support.
Whoever phoned me shouldn't be doing this job as they didn't even read the issue and started off saying we will see about getting your wifi calling running on your phone.
Then after explaining the same as the opening post wifi calling kinda sticks around like a bad smell, ie I can turn wifi off as I have a full phone signal when it decides to kick in but still have notification that wifi calling is active.
I then get put on hold to support can call tech where I am left for a good 5 minutes to be told it's quite normal, must have got hold of the unicorn ##~## department as I had already explained this is a software bug that started when android 6 got updated to 7, before that it worked as intended, for me when I was in Tesco as it has metal walls I would lose signal and switch to wifi calling until I left he building where it would turn off again like it should do.
I am then told my phone must be faulty and I would need to take it into a store and they may need to send it off for repair.
Strange how a software update was the start so even my limited engineering background can say, hell yeah it's a software bug that needs reporting.
I had factory restored the phone 3 times over this now, twice within the phone and once from recovery preventing the new Samsung recovery putting my settings back.
Now I for one can do without the cost and time to go to a store for someone to ignore what I have already said and insisit on wiping the phone clean again, I can also do without it going back to the repair centre Samsung use as they are full of ##~##, pretending to phone when they can't find fault and just wiping the phone and returning it. I have had this twice over a defective battery they won't change yet I can watch it at random go from 25-15% battery instantly.
As you can probably grasp vodafone can ##~## when the contract is up and probably Samsung whilst I am at it.
