New build activation issue

My broadband was meant to go live on 27th June. stupidly, I didn’t actually turn the box on, and now internet is just flashing red. Have chatted with customer support but haven’t got anywhere; apparently my problem is being ‘looked into’ but I’m not sure whether anything will come of this. I live in a new build and the Openreach was only installed a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone else had this issue?

Haha thank you for your help! It’s now turned white but, frustratingly, will not actually load anything when we scan the QR code. Will wait until morning to see if it works…

If it is now white, it's working. I wouldn't worry about the QR code, just try pressing the WPS button on the router and try connecting devices that way (what devices are you using?)

Also the SSID and password are written on the bottom. (assuming you have the THG3000 router)

Will do - have entered password manually and pressed the WPS button but it’s connecting and then still not loading anything. Very annoying!!

What are you connecting? It should all be working now. Do you have anything you can connect by cable?

We just have phones so nothing by cable! The family computer is upstairs and difficult to move down to the router. WiFi light is now flashing red too - having been white before!

Which router do you have? The THG3000 or the new Ultra hub?

The THG3000 flashes the Wi-Fi LED while WPS is running, don't think I have ever seen it red.

Perhaps best to continue in the morning, fresh minds and all that,

I'd like to find out why you have telephone sockets in a new build when FTTP is available.

Woke up this morning and it is now working!! Thank you so much for all your help - really could not have done this without you. Very relieved!

Glad it is now working for you.

Are you intending to use the landline?

Luckily just WiFi, no telephone!
