No ONT box, no engineer, no contact.

My activation date is 6th december, but i have no ONT box in my home.

I contacted vodafone 2 weeks ago telling them I needed an engineer to install fttp, despite the emails saying that i didnt. The indian support people were at best incoherent. So i contacted vodafone again via the complaints process. Some more incoherence. However, in the email it did say...

"Once the order is received by Openreach, a line test will be completed to perform a test. If an issue was found, such as ONT isn't switched on. If the ONT is missing or we are unable to contact you, will require an engineer visit"

Yet the router has arrived im two days from activation and ive heard nothing.

The engineer will bring the ONT with him, it is owned by Openreach, nothing to do with Vodafone.

A second thought, are you sure it is FTTP you are getting, just what service have you signed up for?

Hi. 🙂 No engineer is due as stated in the OP. Yes 910mb.

Hi @daniel1984uk - I'm sorry to hear this has got to the stage of you making a complaint. With you opening a complaint, you'll now have a case handler. If you still need to check what's happening, then please call your case handler on the number that should show on the email from them.

Im not chasing it a 3rd time. If i dont hear from them in a few days ill just cancel. Its been so much hassle already. Id rather pay more for an ISP with british support.

@daniel1984uk Where the help desk is located and the quality of the support they supply are not intrinsically linked. You can get dreadful support in the UK too. As @Jayach has already told you, the problem is with Open Reach and not Vodafone.

True.  However, a half decent grasp of the english language goes a long way to providing decent support. I cant even understand the email response i received. Lets face it, overseas call centres are not used because they are better, they are used because they are cheaper. Im guessing they have a list of prompts to use when replying, anything outside the norm and you are doomed. Dont even get me start on the useless "AI" chat bot. It seems swearing at it was the only way for it to understand i needed to talk to a human. Its no chatgpt.....

@daniel1984uk Did you try 08080 034 515 as an alternative to the social media links?

@daniel1984uk

You said your activation date was 6th December. Did anyone turn up?
