My old contract is ending on 15 January. My new contract is starting on 11 January. Basically it is for the same package deal. Do I need a new router or not? I don't want to be without internet on the day. Someone I spoke to on Vodafone says I would not need a new router. My concern is if the new contract is linked to a new number on a new router. Any help would be appreciated.

The router is provisioned automatically by vodafone's servers, so when the switch happens all your new details will be programmed in automatically.
I went through an fttc to fttp upgrade with the same thg3000 no problems. Only the most inept vodafone employee can mess that up.

I recently renewed my contract, and no new router was needed.
Like yourself my new contract started a bit before the old one ended and Vodafone adjusted the bill to allow for the overlap.
As long as you have the THG3000 you should be fine,
