Hi
We have several Amazon Echos and for about the last 2 months when I play Radio 2 using BBC Sounds it will drop out at random times. I split the network so all Echos connected at 2.4ghz, this was worse than the original 5ghz
Reset up the echos several times
I wonder if the router could be dropping the broadband / wifi connection ?
A few times the echo has a red flashing light which means there is a wifi / broadband problem
Can anyone help please ?
Driving me barmy as only got them to play them to play the radio on
Thanks
Andy

Hey there @andrewpbrooker - How odd! I'm sure we can help with this 😊 Is it only with the Radio 2 on BBC Sounds service that you're having issues?
Have you tried connecting the router to the test socket to make sure there's no issues with internal wiring?
Do you have any devices connected via ethernet cable to the router? If so, are they also experiencing the issues?

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me
It just seems to be a problem with BBC Sounds
I have played another station, Heart radio with no problems
Thanks for any help you can give
I am fairly sure its a problem with the BBC sounds, The BBC Amaxon skill which the Echos use get some similar bad reviews

I have a similar problem. I don't listen (or watch) the BBC (no licence) but I have 5 echo's of various sorts streaming either Radio Caroline or Planet Rock around the house.
I will suddenly notice that one of the devices is not streaming or has become distorted. I just ask Alexa to play the station "everywhere" again and usually they all start up again, but occasionally I have to reboot one.
If I go out, by the time I come back they have frequently all stopped. I just put it down to something in the streaming servers.
It will be interesting if other Echo users are having the same problem.
I don't find it much of a problem.

Hi Thanks for getting back to me. I will test more today but is seems to be a problem with BBC sounds, playing Heart FM seems to work fine. When I looked at the reviews of the BBC skill it looked like other people are getting a similar problem. Thanks
