I am currently considering switching from plusnet fttc to vodafone superfast 100 (provided via city fibre I believe).
My question is about the installation as having talked to vodafone online chat I get a rather flakey response.
My home has a shared tarmac driveway which is 20 meters plus from the small city fibre terminal box in the pavement. My current fttc broadband comes via a standard BT phone line which is routed underground (I assume using some ducting installed underground).
In order to connect my home will they have to dig up the tarmac driveway or is it possible they could use the same underground ducting used by my existing phone line?
Is there any extra charge for digging up driveways and repairing etc if that is required?
If they tell me the only installation option is to dig up the driveway am I free to cancel the order at that point at no charge? and will my existing broadband service not get cancelled in the meantime
Ideally I'd like a pre-installation visit so they can advise on the installation method before I commit to signing up to the service but I assume that is not possible.

Maybe note, my fibre uses a BT telegraph pole and a new fibre cable was run from there direct to the house so no digging was required (your concern was mine aswell) It's weird cause most of the houses in the area the roads had been dug up and they had a small outlet on the pavement at each property. This makes me think, they have contracts with BT to use their poles and underground ducting, possibly atm vodafone have exclusive rights to sell this cityfibre line but eventually it will be opened to BT and then every other company.

Hi @johnchapuk! If you already have an Open Reach line to the property and then take out a Vodafone package, we'll do what's called a working line take over, where you won't need to do anything other than actually take the contract out with us as we'll contact your previous provider to take over their line in your property. If an engineer is required, you'll be informed of this, as well as what the engineer is needed for before they arrive.
If you'd like to get your account checked to ensure you're all set up and good to go, please contact the customer services team here

Hi Beth,
I had assumed the "Superfast 100" product (100Mbps download, 100Mbps upload) required a fibre to the home connection?
The openreach line I currently have is fibre to the cabinet and copper to the home. Are you saying you can take over that line and deliver a 100Mbps download, 100Mbps upload broadband connection?
