DSL connection inactive

This morning my router has greeted me with a message that I have no internet connection and need to press reconnect to restart my DSL line, my broadband returned for a few minutes before once again greeting me with this message. A Google shows other posts about this at various points in time but all of the solutions were 'pm me' on the forums. Any advice appreciated.
