Hi, I just received my gigabox and trying to hook it up to my playstation 4, it appears I've been stuck with a Nat Type 3, I've tried all the usually things like port forwarding and static IP, upon research I've seen plenty of others with this same problem with Vodaphone yet not a problem on 3, as I'm still within my timeframe to return the product I'd like to know if there will be a fix for this? I believe public ips are what is needed but according to other threads Vodaphone don't do this (yes I've changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) is this something that is going to be addressed or should I just cancel now as paying 50 pound a month for restricted gaming is far too much for me.
Any help that would be appreciated.
Thanks!

@CounterPart - With it being a mobile data connection and not actual fixed Broadbadn, for security reasons i'm sorry it wont allow you to change the NAT type.

I have also just moved across to Vodafones 4G unlimited data plan and found that my gigacube is NAT type Strict.
I see various people saying the reason its restricted is due to the amount of data gaming uses, well streaming uses alot more and why offer an unlimited service if there are restrictions?
With unlimited data I should be able to play gaming or stream movies, there is no difference.
I can tether my iPad to my XBox and I get an open NAT type and thats using the 4G network with o2 (Sky).

What difference does it make being broadband or mobile? I can tether on my iPad which has a sky mobile (o2) subscription and I get a Nat type open which is fine.

Hey @3monkey, what's your experience like when gaming? We unfortunately don't offer an open NAT type 😢

My experience is that the majority of the time I cannot join online gaming sessions meaning the gigacube is pretty much useless to me I am currently having to failback to tethering to my iPad with a Sky/o2 SIM in it which is pretty embaressing for vodafone in my eyes, an ipad with a basic data plan on o2 is more use than the all new all shiny gigacube with a massive unlimited dataplan.... 😳
Back to the vodafone shop it goes I suppose...

Out of interest why do Vodafone not offer open NAT type? Whats the reason behind it, shouldnt it be advertised so as not to waste the customers time?

@3monkey - This as been fed back internally last week.

This is nonsense 3 doesn't have this issue on their Gigacubes. It just Vodafone refusing to give users their own public IP like all the others that have that have replied I will also be taking mine back, thanks for wasting my time Vodafone.

I’ve also literally signed up and received my gigacube today and found the strict NAT issues (all troubleshooting steps have been attempted such as DMZ, port forwarding, virtual server etc etc), I know the NAT is nothing to do with 4G in general as I can tether to my iPad (Sky/o2 network) and get an open NAT type and being on the unlimited day plan the fact that gaming uses less data than streaming movies I cannot see how data usage can be the reason either.
Please tell me this is going to be resolved ASAP or there is a resolution in place so I don’t have to send it bAck.
