Hi, I just received my gigabox and trying to hook it up to my playstation 4, it appears I've been stuck with a Nat Type 3, I've tried all the usually things like port forwarding and static IP, upon research I've seen plenty of others with this same problem with Vodaphone yet not a problem on 3, as I'm still within my timeframe to return the product I'd like to know if there will be a fix for this? I believe public ips are what is needed but according to other threads Vodaphone don't do this (yes I've changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) is this something that is going to be addressed or should I just cancel now as paying 50 pound a month for restricted gaming is far too much for me.
Any help that would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I had a wired broadband with Vodafone before and the same issue occured with the supplied router/modem. Bought my ouwn modem/router and that solved the wired broadband issue. Since my speed was terrible, I switched to the GigaCube and saw the same issue again. Bought a Raspberry Pi 4 and a NordVPN subscription. Connected the RasPi to the GigaCube with an ethernet cable and followed the 2 tutorials here: https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-nordvpn/.
Now i have linked my Xbox One to the RasPi accesspoint and have Open NAT

I wonder if Vodafone will include a free Rasberry pie in order to allow their customers to play online games along with a free in store setup 🤔

Doubt it but maybe...they aren't too expensive and are fun to work with

They won't there are post about this going back to 2017 so they clearly don't give a ##~##. But sure I can see for those into that sort of thing it can be a silver lining.

Yeah, I just saw that when I was searching for the issue and figured I'd post a solution even though it was pretty old.

Just got a gigacube and have the same problem . No game connections work no matter how much playing around with gigacube settings . This is false advertising and is going back

Very disappointed that the gigacube blocks all games connection due to this NAT address block issues. No games connect no matter what gigacube settings are adjusted to open ports.. I don’t want to be a network ending expert - JUST TO PLAY A GAME ?! This is going back as not providing this normal basic internet function Is a TOTAL SCAM . I had no problems on three !!

Your only hope is a VPN. It's just a glorified Netflix device and Vodaphone don't seem to care. Just the normal sounds bites, it's being looked into etc no substance though.

So do I really need a raspberry Pi ?! Can I not just get a vpn sub and then do config on the cube ?

I believe there are some VPN setting you can work through on the qube, however I couldn't get them to work to get open NAT. You will need something between the qube and whatever you're trying to connect; raspberry pi is cheapest and simple enough but not the only option.
