Hi there,
I've been looking to take out a Gigafast 500 connection which shows as being available via the online checker to my postcode.
When I called up to order, I was told the maximum speed I could be offered was 100, and that faster speeds weren't available.
Other providers can all offer up to 900 and via the Openreach wholesale checker it shows the FTTP line installed to my property is enabled for up to 1000.
Has anyone else experienced this, and why wouldn't Vodafone be able to provide a service greater than 100mb on a line capable of up to 1000?

Hi @Bd20, it's great to hear you're looking to join our Gigafast service! The speeds our team have provided will be the maximum we can offer to your premise - ourselves and Openreach wouldn't be able to make any changes to this. It does sound like you'll be getting faster speeds than the UK average (around 64Mbps). If you do have any further questions though regarding the service, please give our dedicated team a call on

@Cynric When adding details to your profile under 'Personal information' only our moderators and the user will be able to see the information added. We use this when customers prefer not to share their postcode on a public thread - for example, with network queries.

Thank you for the clarification.
I am unaware of any documentation telling the user that "No one" as a privacy setting is not true. Are there any other features of the Forum where security and/or privacy are not as they seem?

I can understand your concerns @Cynric, any information we hold about our customers is always held in the strictest confidence. Our privacy settings are in place to withhold your details from other users and possible malicious attacks. From time to time, we may need to ask customers to supply information such as your postcode and have access to the personal information on your profile to allow us to do this. Please rest assured we understand how important your privacy is and would never access this information without your expressed consent.

@Tash are you able to provide further information as to why Vodafone can only offer a 100mb connection on a 1gb line when others (BT, Zen etc.) can provide 300, 500, 900 service on this line?
Is this a limitation with Vodafones back end infrastructure/backhaul in this location being at capacity, or because Openreach won't allow Vodafone to resell this service?
I'm currently on a 500mbps service with Virgin Media - hence why I'm looking at a 500 or 900 service from Vodafone.
